My name is Billie Jo. Some of you will know me better by my books than as a TikToker.

The aim for Hollow Spine Book Store is to create a community space, not just another book store.

I know I’m not the only one who fears walking into a new space to take part in something. So Hollow Spine is a place you can come, buy books, talk to staff, talk to each other.

That way, when there is an event, it isn’t like walking into a room full of strangers.

Books aren’t just words on paper. They’re stories. Dimensions into other versions of ourselves, and the lives of others. Some people may not realise what books are to us, but us readers, the books are our escape.

We’d rather have a book, coffee, chocolate and a throw than heels, ripped tights and sambucas.

We still get the hangovers. From broken characters making us cry, to cliff-hangers that keep us reading until gone 5am.

We’re still people who love to stay up late. Just with a fictional character or two, rather than rave music and flashing lights.

I hope you find a home in Hollow Spine Book Store. That’s the aim after all.
